After the events of 2020, which changed the trajectory for so many of us, I made a conscious decision to live more intentionally and to return to a more natural way of living. My hormones had fallen out of balance, my skin and hair were no longer what they use to be, and I was forced to confront the fact that the dreaded “m” word was not somewhere far off in my distant future. It was happening right before my tightly closed eyes. I was heading into menopause. As I began to reluctantly admit it to myself, I also began to realize that the everyday products I had trusted for decades were filled with synthetic, hormone-disrupting ingredients. It was a wake-up call that changed everything.

As I searched for truly clean, effective skincare and became educated on the topic, I was disappointed to discover that most “natural” products weren’t what they claimed to be. Instead, I discovered they were low in active ingredients, high in unhealthy refined oils, and often overpriced. I knew there had to be a better way. Over the next years, I began formulating my own skincare products, using only the finest organic, unrefined, and cold-pressed ingredients, paired with powerful botanical extracts and clinically proven Actives at meaningful concentrations.

The change in my skin was remarkable—renewed balance, restored radiance, and deep, lasting hydration that no synthetic product had ever delivered. My mid-life skin that took a hard turn with a shift of hormones was coming back to life from head to toe. I only wish I had started making and using these products in my thirties!

One by one, many of my dear friends started asking me what I was doing for my skin. When they found out, they asked me to “make them some, too.” That journey inspired the creation of Sotria Skincare—a line born from purity, integrity, and performance.
